Our cloud bill went from $4k to $9k this month with no change in traffic. Starting the migration plan this week. Who has moved a Postgres + workers setup somewhere sane?
Post on X · publicCompanies leaving your competitor’s cloud, this week.
Kateion sends cloud and hosting providers a weekly list of companies that have said in public that they are leaving AWS, Heroku, Vercel or another platform. Each entry links to the original post and says why now (bill shock, a price or licence change, an outage) and how we know who the company is.
Free for one week, then from €500 a month. Cancel any time.
- Bill shock
- Price or plan change
- Outage
- Free tier removed
- Deprecation
- Asking for alternatives
A team that is leaving a cloud is the warmest prospect you will ever get.
When an engineering lead writes “our bill doubled, we are moving off” they have already decided to change. They are choosing where to go, usually within weeks, and the provider that shows up with a useful answer first tends to win.
Those posts are public, but they are scattered across X, forums, community threads and changelog comments, mixed in with jokes, hobby projects and people who are only venting. Nobody on a sales team has time to read all of it every day.
A public post becomes a checked lead, with the evidence attached.
Every entry in your weekly list looks like the card on the right. You read the post yourself, so you know exactly what the company said before you reach out.

Clean by design, so you can use it with a clear conscience.
- Public posts only. Only what a business wrote about itself, in public. No private data, no bought lists.
- Link, don’t copy. Every entry links to the original post. We quote a line at most.
- A person at every contact. Nothing is sent automatically, by us or for you. People write to people.
- Removed on request, same day. Anyone can ask to be taken out, and every buyer is asked to honour it.

Frequently asked
Where do the leads come from?
From public posts only: X, the open web, public forums and community threads. We link to each post rather than copying it, and we never use private data, scraped emails or guessed identities.
How is this different from intent data?
Most intent data infers interest from anonymous browsing. Kateion shows you a company saying, in its own words and in public, that it is leaving a provider. You can read the evidence yourself before you reach out.
Do you contact the companies for us?
No. You decide whether and how to reach out, under your own name. We ask that you offer something genuinely useful and honour anyone who asks not to be contacted.
How many companies will I get each week?
It depends on how active your competitors’ customers are that week. We send only entries a person has checked, so some weeks are shorter. The one-week pilot shows you real volume before you pay anything.
Can you watch specific competitors?
Yes. Tell us the platforms you win customers from and we tune the search to them, for example only Heroku and Render, or only one hyperscaler.
What does it cost?
The first week is free. After that it is from €500 a month per feed, and you can cancel any time.
Which clouds and platforms do you watch?
The big clouds and the platforms built on them, for example AWS, Google Cloud, Azure, Heroku, Vercel, Render, Netlify and DigitalOcean. Tell us the ones you win customers from and we focus the search on them.
What counts as bill shock?
A company saying its cloud bill jumped without a matching change in usage, and that it plans to act on it. A complaint on its own is not enough; we look for a stated plan to move or a request for options.
Do you include hobby projects and individual developers?
No. We keep businesses we can identify from the post or the profile, such as a company account or a website in the bio. Side projects and people who are only venting are filtered out.
How fresh are the leads?
Each list covers the past week. Teams usually choose where to move within weeks, so posts that have gone cold are dropped rather than padded into the list.
Does a person check every lead?
Yes. Software finds and scores candidates, then a person reviews each one. Only leads marked good go into your list, and nothing is ever sent to a business automatically.
What is in each lead?
The company, the moment it is in, why now, how we know who it is, and the link to its own public post, so you can read the evidence before you reach out.
Can I cancel any time?
Yes. The pilot ends by itself. After that you are billed monthly in advance and can cancel at the end of any month, with no notice period.
What if my market is not listed?
Ask for a custom feed. Tell us who you sell to and what makes a company ready to buy from you, and we will investigate what is publicly out there and propose a plan and price.
